Today truly seemed like the first day of fall here in College Station. It was crisp and sunny, and we all got to enjoy a "Pumpkin Party"! We have been so blessed to find a fantastic church here in Texas, and an equally great Sunday school class. Our class is dedicated to young families, and almost everyone has children under five. Mentor couples teach and mentor us weekly on how to be more godly parents, and it is so refreshing to fellowship with other parents going through the same joys and challenges you are. So, a family from our class hosted the party today. They graciously opened their home to about 30 kiddos...all under 5. Oh, and they gave them all a bunch of paint. Yikes!
Benjamin had a great time painting his pumpkin, despite giving himself a big bump on the head beforehand. This was his first "big boo-boo" requiring ice and lots of hugs. Grandparents please don't worry...it looks pretty awful, but he is just fine now.
Fall is here, and we are looking forward to enjoying it with family, friends and lots of pumpkins. We are thankful for it all!
We just got back from the Napa Valley Wine Country. We had such a good time. It is so beautiful. The grape vines are golden rust and the air smells sweet. We visited Healdsburg, Hopland, St. Helena, Yountsville (where we had a wonderful breakfast at the golf course) and Sonoma. We spent the night in Calistoga and walked around town some and had a great Mexican dinner. Fall's lovely.
