Florida with Meme & Pepe

Wow! From the ski slopes to the sandy beaches, the Johnsons have been on the move. Last week the boys and Mommy traveled to warm (not so sunny) Florida for a week of vacation with Meme and Pepe. It was a wonderful time - I've included 21 pictures to narrate our adventures. Enjoy! We spent our first day in Florida at the beach. But, the weathermen predicted a rainy day so Mommy didn't dress the boys for the beach (our plan was to walk on the beach and enjoy the view, and then go out to lunch). It turned out to be the sunniest and nicest day we had in Florida. The boys enjoyed it in their normal clothes (I didn't even bring their swim suits - it was supposed to rain!) and then we went to the restaurant all sandy!
Meme was wise enough to bring the beach toys. And she made some great sand castles with Ben and Andrew.

The next day we ventured to Butterfly World, where we all enjoyed thousands of butterflies free around us. In this picture Ben is trying to stay still - like Pepe - so a butterfly will land on him. He tried, but 4 year old boys just can's stay still enough.
The butterfly on Meme's hat hung out with her for 15 minutes. He was her buddy!
Pepe was the first to feed the Lorikets and they obviously loved him. Both Ben and Andrew fed the birds with Mommy. A bird landed on Andrew's head!
We found some awesome playgrounds to play! It was such a blessing to be outside without snowsuits and coats and mittens and hats.
Later in the week we traveled to Lion Country Safari - which is a "drive through" zoo filled with wild animals. It was a fantastic opportunity to see some big animals up close. And, because it was a warm, overcast day the animals were very active.
Really?

Andrew enjoying the Zebra herd.
Yes, the Rhinoceros were VERY close.
Andrew loves giraffes. He had a great view of the giraffes eating "lunch".
More giraffes!
Alligators! Ben was so excited to see some real alligators. There were 3 in this enclosure. One was swimming and one was walking. It was the first time Pepe had ever seen an alligator move!
That big alligator just walked out of the water. Andrew thought it was pretty cool!
Ben enjoyed a few rides, now that he is a big boy.
Before leaving the Safari the boys were able to feed the giraffes.

We are so grateful that we had this opportunity to spend time with Meme and Pepe in Florida. We love you Meme and Pepe and will see you in March when you fly home!
