Great Expectations

Dan and I would like to announce that we are expecting another little one in September. We have been patiently waiting to announce the news until this week, when we were able to see a little heart beating and verify that at 8 weeks everything was going well. We are so grateful that during my ultrasound on Thursday we witnessed a strong heartbeat and even a little "dancing" of little Baby Johnson. He or she is even a little "taller" than is expected at this benchmark, but that seems to be typical for our babies.

Modern technology is fantastic! The picture above is pretty grainy, but it is awesome what you can see on ultrasounds nowadays. And, it is truly wonderful how developed we are at only 8 weeks. This little guy has a heart beating like a little hummingbird and he (or she) was already making some rudimentary movements. Becoming a mama has opened my eyes to God's amazing design.

For you formed my inward parts;

You covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

My frame was not hidden from You,
