Christmas in Connecticut

Howdy family & friends! The Johnson trio has returned home to a warm and sunny Texas, after spending a fun week in Connecticut celebrating a wedding and belated Christmas celebrations with family. Christmas 2009 has been such a fun and busy season! We are so grateful for the hospitality of our family and the blessings of the Lord in providing such opportunities this year.

Our Connecticut Christmas was slightly different than Christmas in Arizona. There was snow and it was COLD, but it felt very "Christmasy". Similarly we enjoyed lots of laughs and love, good food and Ben had a blast passing out presents. A tradition that Pepe Audette started years ago continues - the boys in the family each get the special Hess Truck for Christmas. And it doesn't matter if you are 26 or 2 years old. Here is Ben with Uncle Joe and Uncle Sam, enjoying their 2009 Hess Trucks!

Ben and Pepe started another Christmas tradition this year - reading the Polar Express. Ben really enjoyed the story and would shake the bell as Pepe read to him. Pepe even had a Polar Express train that went around the Christmas tree. Ben was excited!

Uncle Sam was kind enough to get all of his trucks and trains out for Ben to play with while we were visiting. Benjamin also enjoyed playing trains with Meme!

While we were in Connecticut we also got to visit with Nana Malentacchi, who was so gracious. Benjamin caught his first real cold of the year and was quite fussy at Nana's house. However, we were able to enjoy a special lunch with Great Grandma Nana!
Thank you to Kathy and my Dad who graciously hosted us for the week. We were so comfortable in your home, thank you for treating us so well! We love you.
